 The
green mithrax or emerald crab is an excellent consumer of nuisance
micro algae as well as some invasive species of macroalgae such as
valonia (bubble algae) They're mostly nocturnal scavengers,
hiding under rocks and rubble during the day. They're most useful
when young as full grown emerald crabs can quickly consume large
amounts of many species of desirable macro algae. Emerald crabs
are reef safe and will not eat corals or gorgonians. We ship a size
that is approx1/2" to 1".
