Macroalgae For Marine Reef Aquariums: Enteromorpha ecosystems

Ulva (Enteromorpha) intestinalis

The Latin name Enteromorpha means intestine shaped. This particular macro algae is in the same family as Ulva and features elongated, cylindrical appendages that form a tube shape. It grows in small clumps attached by a single holdfast in shallow coastal environments. This species is very palatable to both fish and invertebrates. It should be anchored to prevent it from clogging filters and pumps as its very delicate and can fragment easily. You will receive several small clusters with some attached to shells.
