Jania rubens

This is an interesting and attractive species of red macroalgae that features lightly calcified cylindrical branches. The color is a deep maroon with some pink coloration on the end of each branchlet. It grows in tight clumps ranging from 3-4" in diameter. It's commonly found in shallow waters most often attached to other species of algae. It's relatively hardy in the aquarium, but needs good flow to maintain it's delicate branches. Not palatable to most fish and invertebrates. You will receive 3-4 clusters ranging in size from 2-3".
